Another round round-up. A RECORD-SMASHING ROUND.

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): "There you go then. 2 over after one hole. 2 over after nine. And several records broken. These records, again, being: 1 - Best ever putting performance for 9 holes. (13 putts in total). 2 - Most ever birdies in 9 holes. Three. 3 - Highest ever birdie hit rate during a round. 1:3. 4 - Best ever total score (shots rather than to par) for nine holes. Thirty-six. But... in terms of stats for the season, no... I can't count any of the above!"

My (FULL) bag and tags at the season’s start.

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): "This is NOT my annual WIMB (What's In My Bag) post. That'll come in the summer, when I should be more settled. This is just what I'm pretty sure now, will be in my Ogio Silencer full bag, at the start of the season in 5 days time, based on my range session today and the last couple of sessions, plus my warm up rounds over the last fortnight or so. In short... 13 clubs made up of 8 Snake Eyes clubs (yellow tags below) and 5 Cleveland clubs (black tags)..."

“SUFI address” and HIGH HANDS

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): "With my "high hands" technique (above) I can get to perhaps within 10 yards of my strong-lofted Cleveland cavity back irons, but the Snake Eyes blades just seem to go straighter, higher with more spin and MUCH better feel. I just like them more - and hope that if I start setting up to address the ball in a more consistent fashion (described above), then my beautiful blades will pay me back..."

Value Man. Tip 14. Indian Open 2019 at the DLF G&CC, Delhi.

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): "I know this course specialist (perhaps the best example of any course specialist ALL year) is at shorter odds than I'd usually tip at, but as I've said before, as long as my AVERAGE ODDS (at which I've tipped) is 100-1 or greater at the end of the season, well that's value enough for me - so, again, I AM allowing myself the occasional tip at odds of between 50-1 and 100-1, if I see sufficient value in those odds and it doesn't mean my average odds dips below 100-1. I think at present, even after this tip below, my average is 109-1, so we're still OK... and remember… in a couple of weeks, I'm about to reveal to the loyal reader(s?) of this column, a 500-1 tip for the Masters... yes... you read that right. 500-1! But for now... and this week... My tip?..."

Bag sesh. Cleveland vs Snake Eyes. All shook up.

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): Again, I'll write a "What's in my bag" (WIMB) post here, when I've settled the matter, but I'm again amazed how easy my old Cleveland CG Black irons are to spank, compared to my lovely feeling Snake Eyes EV MB1 blades and lovely feeling Cleveland CG1 Tour Blades -which sure, feel as soft as big jock Mcfluffy's long-haired cat - but just don't go anywhere! ...My thoughts at present? If I'm playing for bragging rights (with the boys from work, or in the works championship, or in the Friday society games again)… I may play the Cleveland set up - but if I'm playing for shits and giggles... it'll be the buttery blades..."

Another round round-up. One egg. Two balls. Matron.

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): "...Yes... this is always a pressure shot, and especially at this time of year, with wet sand - the ever-present risk of bouncing the bottom of the club off the firm, wet sand and sculling the ball over the narrow green into the lake, in front of the club house bar is all too doable! But. I had my lovely old Cleveland Tour Action 900 BRZ lob wedge in my hands - THE club which I reckon has been my best club from bunkers EVER...

Ten-ton up.
