Value Man Tip 17. Trophy Hassan II at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, Morocco.

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): "This week will mark the first time I've tipped someone for a second time this season. The last time I tipped him, was in the South African Open in early December 2018, so right at the start of the 2018/19 season. He missed the cut! Let's hope for better this time. So. My tip....?"

Another round round-up. Mediocre golf on a BEAUTIFUL evening.

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): "We're all enjoying this mini Easter heatwave aren't we? Me included! So after hitting 110 balls VERY BADLY indeed at the range yesterday afternoon, but thinking "SOD IT! The course is empty and the weather (if not my swing) is good", I headed up to the local course. I'm glad I did... but not for the golf. For everything BUT the golf..."

The Six Million Dollar Driver!

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): "...I'm now playing a Bionic (or six million dollar) driver with my Bionic glove. And although that's a shorter prospect from the tee... it should be far straighter and far more controllable and consistent. And that, after all, laydeez and gennlelmen, is the whole point of golf, after all. It's not how FAR you hit the ball. It's how WELL (or accurately) you hit it..."

Value Man. No tip this week.

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): "Just to let regular reader(s?!) know that due to the fact that there is no European Tour Event this week and only a Mickey Mouse tournament across the pond then there will be no Value Man Tip this week."

Ten things we learned from this year’s “Masters”…

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): "6 - Tiger played nine 8 iron approaches (or tee shots) to greens yesterday. Quite a nice distance and comfortable club for him, clearly. Tiger is also, now, (through necessary change in his strategy) plotting his way around a course and watching his younger, fellow competitors just "grip it and rip it". Waaaay past him very often... but not better than him. Tiger played quite a few low, squeezed cuts off the tee yesterday. "Fairway finders", so-to-speak - demonstrating that Augusta CAN be won with a fade (even though Colon Monty said it couldn't (of course)) rather than a draw..."

Another round round-up. MY FIRST EVER SUB-80 ROUND!

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): "Laydeez and gennelmen, it is with GREAT pleasure that I can inform you that yesterday, in the breezy, sunny early Spring conditions of the Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire, where I started playing golf 34 years ago... I finally.... FINALLY scored lower than 80 for a full 18 holes, on a full course, for the first time ever! This is the story of that round..."

My 2019 MASTERS preview and PICKS!

Excerpt (Please click blog post title to read post in full): "And for the record, the BIG ten year trends to look out for when trying to pick a winner in The Masters each year are: 1) Aged under 40. Preferably under 35. 2) (World) ranked in the top 20 is possible but certainly in the top 30. 3) Played in at least one Masters before, preferably 3 or more. 4) Posted at least a top 30 in the Masters before. 5) Posted at least a top 3 earlier in the season and preferably a win. 6) NOT to be the defending champion! 7) NOT to be the world’s number one!"
